    Registration Failed

Post  bluedogsb on Wed May 06, 2009 4:21 pm

Alright, well if this has been posted, then I'm sorry, but I couldn't find a thread with this problem on this forum.

This is a problem that has been noted many times, but doesn't seem to receive help when it is asked. I get the "return 2" aka failing when I try to register a new user. I have no clue why especially since this is supposed to work "out of the box". Although it has worked for almost everyone, it has not worked for me. I am assuming this is the only hump I need to get over in order for this work.

I have these thoughts to why I cannot register a user:
    1) My database is not set up correctly
    2) Something is wrong with the connection
    3) any others?

98% of the time this script works right outta the box and thats why we love it. but there are those 2% of people who cant, for whatever reason get the thing working correctly. usually its a database problem, but im still going to ask the usual questions:

    1) what version of apache, php, mysql are you using?
    2) are you using phpMyAdmin? if so what version?
    3) are you trying this from a local or live server?
    4) how did you insert the sql file to the database?
    5) have you altered the script in any way?

I fixed the problem. I needed to learn MySQL along with the commands that create the tables correctly. Thanks.
